I've been waiting to share this set, I have had it for several months. The set is in very good condition, with on a few tiny nicks. No major scratches or dents. The pieces are monogrammed with an "S". Very fitting, my daughter's name begins with an S. The set weighs over 9 pounds, each piece marked:
Hand Chased
Sterling by
Frank M. Whiting & Company
707
I am not sure exactly when this was made....I would say sometime between 1900-1940??? Here is some more about the company:

Can't wait to use the set...!
Superb coffee and tea set, BHock, particularly since you have all five pieces.
Here is a very similar set --- with the tray, also numbered 707 --- that sold at Sotheby's in 2010 and they date it "early 20th century." Amusing note: the photographer placed the sugar bowl lid on top of the waste bowl in error.

Don't be wow'd by the sale price since the silver value alone for 8689 grams WITH THE TRAY in 2010, that averaged approximately $20.00 per troy ounce, was around $5,200.00.
solver, thank you! Looks like the set is the same, mine without the tray of course. I have to find the tray, or one that complements the set. I love the work on this set, I am happy with it. Thanks again!
Only one comment: Georgeous!
