I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about this trunk. The only thing I know about it is that it came to Canada from Germany in the 1960s with my former Mother-in-Law.

Your trunk was most likely made in the early 1900's. Even though it may have come from Germany it looks to be an American made trunk, as many were shipped over from the US to be sold in Europe, only to come back with immigrants. European trunks had different features on them... as an example the US made trunks have leather handles and the European ones have metal handles. It is a basic flat top trunk made by many makers at the time. it has a nice rustic old world look to it,,, however this type of trunk is a good candidate to be refinished if you so desire, Thanks for the post!

Thank you for your reply! I know very little about collectibles in general, but am always eager to learn. I have another trunk I found on the side of the road, actually, and luckily enough…! I'll post a picture of it as well and see if you might be able to tell me something about where it might have been made or even its style. Thanks again!
