This is a very simple but pretty silver necklace with encased barroque pearls by jewellery firm Rodi & Wienenberger from Pforzheim, Germany (marked on the bale). The company was founded in 1885 and its history and some examples of their work are featured in Fritz Falk's book on Jugendstil jewellery. The pearls are very nice, with a greyish tint, and the ornamental silver encasing is typical of the 1900s. Many firms had similar designs, including Murrle Bennett, Liberty, and Karl Hermann.
I like the baroque pearls and their mounts. Gives it a bit of an edge!
thanks, racer4, indeed the caged pearls are something special! Thanks to all who have loved :)
