Antique stuff dog with squeaker in the tail, hand sewn circa 1900?

38" long from nose to tail. Each leg is 14" long.
The tail is 7" long with a working squeaker inside
The ears are about 10" long and 5 " wide at it's widest .
The nose is about the size of a golf ball. The white and brown parts of its eyes is felt material and the black part of the eyes and the tongue look like a vinyl material. The tongue has a dull sheen on the upper side, as well as the black parts of the eyes. The body of the dog is hand sewn. I do not know the material, but is soft like felt.
I think this dog is around early 1900 circa. I am 58 and it was given to me at age 4 by a friend of my mother's. Mrs. Small, a doctor's wife said it had belonged to her deceased daughter when she was a child. Her daughter, if she were living at the time would have been in her 40's.
I was so thrilled to receive the dog at the time because I was only four years old and it was as big as me! Plus, the dog's tail squeaked!
There are no markings on the dog to indicate where it was made.
