rebessin
(116 items)
Yellow-green, white and pink. I have also one in clear crystal, and I think light blue was another color produced.
Design: Gunnar Nylund mid 1950s.
Height: 40 mm.
Diameter: 65 mm.
They are very thin and the color seems to be made as an underlay to a clear crystal outer layer. It's an inerersting technique for thin glass items like these. To get the right color nuance, you must capture exactly right amount of clear glass relative to the underlay of color ball. Therefore the color strength can vary a little from bowl to bowl with the same color. But with this underlay technique you give the glass an unusual and beautiful appearance. I think Nylund put this before to make a product at the lowest possible cost.
