I came across a thread on this W Mirkin with a (thought) generic view of the Delft in Holland. I was trying to find out more about this artist due to the above picture which I acquired, with very little success. This is a completely different style than the previous one posted, with definite overtones of Picasso/Cubism. If anyone can enlighten me on the artist or this picture I would be very grateful. Thanks

All I can find is works by him attributed to W Minkin, Paris. Looking at the work he has done he was influenced by the Impressionists and clearly here by the Cubists, who were active in Paris prior to WWI.
Even if you find nothing else about him just enjoy this painting!

Thank you both. Racer4four, I wish I could say that I could enjoy his painting, but its really, really not my style. It was left in my house by the previous owner to cover up a hole in the wall (can you believe), but I have the feeling this is a real oil(?) painting and not a copy/reproduction (not that my knowledge is that great, I could be wrong), which is why I have held on to it ... I thought if it or the artist was of interest I would keep it to hand down to my son?

      Hi Macghille,
I just purchased a similar painting by this artist at a 2nd hand store for $15. I have been searching for any info on W. Mirkin but I can't really find anything either.

I found a paining that is very close to what you have
done by W. Mintin . it was rolled up and covered to preserve it
      colors are very bright
don't know what is worth but after I get it mounted it will look good in my living room

I have a similar painting that is not signed, we later found another that appears to be the same artist signed W. Mirkin

I was informed these paintings are reproductions of pieces by OLEG ZHIVETIN.
