I picked this up at the Alameda Antiques Fair a couple wks ago. the tile is cracked, but i purchased it thinking i would remove this tile and make another table using some of my antique tiles. i like the iron work alot, and would like to know anything i can find out about the tile as well. should it stay or should it go?

It looks quite well done ho2cultcha... I definitely wouldn't destroy it even with the crack. Hang on to it if you remove it. You never know, it could be valuable. -Mike-

thank you mikelv85. there is an ebay sale of a somewhat similar [but much simpler] tile w/ very similar writing - i think by the same hand - going on right now. it's going for a hefty price - dated 1900-1920. http://www.ebay.com/itm/151395994551

i think i will hold on to this one! if anyone can read it, i'd love to know what is written on it. ???

i think that this tile was made by the same person who made one which just ended on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Chinese-Porcelain-039-Winter-039-Landscape-Tile-Plaque-Ca-1900-Signed-/151395994551?nma=true&si=rRamrWCexGgPZdF%252BgHunmpDTXnc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
the reserve was not met at $1950!

i found out some info about this table. it is from a print by Ando Hiroshige called Night Snow at Kambara and from the The fifty-stree stages of Tokaido wood-block print, reproduction from a miniature edition by Takamizawa, Japan Title: Kanbara.
