I inherited this last year from woman who had been an antique dealer and traveled extensively in later life. I don't know who is represented but looks like a woman because of the mark on the forehead. Not sure where the statue is from, maybe India? I have no idea about the date.

It is about 19 and 1/2 inches tall from base to top of crown, 11" wide from ear to ear and weighs about 8 pounds. It is a bronze sand cast, I believe. Two pieces of the crown are missing . Not sure what the stones are-- looks a little like turquoise. Any ideas you have are appreciated.

Thank you, Jim. Your information is very exciting. I checked out goddess Tara online and enjoyed what I read. Do you have any suggestions for how I might date this?

I'd just add the word Tibet. I agree with Jim.
