The thing that really attracted me to this vase was the quality of the enameling. The style of decoration is very similar to work being done by Harrach in the late 1870s and 1880s. The shape, however, is one that was used by both Harrach and Loetz in the 1890s, commonly found in various types of marmoriertes (marbled) glass. This example is beautifully painted on opaque green glass, with a white uranium glass layer underneath. Glows vividly under black light. 8" tall. A comparison of this vase to one of the marmoriertes pieces in my collection is shown in the last photo. Although the vases are exactly the same height, the mouth of the green vase is slightly wider, while its base is slightly narrower.

Thanks, Sean - I've been trying hard not to buy Victorian and concentrate more on art nouveau - but pieces like this keep pulling me back in :)
