I was given this cast iron bank safe in the mid 1960's by my mothers father in Detroit, Mich.
It's 5in tall x 41/2 in wide x 31/8 in deep. It’s black with gold panels on both sides and top. The door has a scrolling pattern in the lower right corner. There are three (3) knobs with 1-12 on each. They look to be brass an knurled on the top two (2). The back has a slot for coinage.
Inside is a 1/2 in slot running top to bottom with two (2) drawers. The top drawer is shallower than the bottom and restricted from being completely push in. to allow coinage to drop in bottom drawer. Both have ringed pulls on front.
The only marking I have been able to locate is on the the locking bar on door. "Pat. July 13th/80".
Any info. or other sites that deal in this type of bank would be appreciated. Thank you, Ron.
