I cant make any nice pictures these days, so sorry for the bad quality, but alas, thats all I can give you right now. :-)
Here you have my small collection of mosaic jewelry. I call them mosaic because the tesserae arent small enough to call them micro mosaic. There are only 3 micro mosaic plaquettes in the picture: the roman building (Temple of Vesta) and the two goldstone birds.
They are 19th century. For more micro mosaic pieces you can look at Agram's marvellous collection!
The rest of them date from the early 1900's (cross pendant) to the sixties or even later (diamond shape brooch).
The brooch with the ivorine frame is my latest addition. I just thought it was an interesting piece of jewelry, and thats why I bought it. It looks like two links of a mosaic bracelet someone incorporated in an ivorine back plate! Maybe the bracelet broke and they didn't want to throw it away? So I think its a DIY piece.
Anyhow, the closure tells me its made in the thirties or fourties.
I found all these pieces on different flea markets and I paid about 1 to 3 euro's for each piece, including the micro mosaic plaquettes. (Always collecting on a budget!) ;-)
    I hope you like them!
Can anyone tell me more about the ivorine brooch?

Valentino, perhaps you are right, thanks for your comments, its always interesting to hear another collector.
The 3 plaquettes are no buttons. I bought them together with some other loose stones and some other micro mosaics I donated to Marga ;-). I payed about 1 euro on ebay for the lot. I think their gold mountings got melted and I bought the 'worthless'crap. I m happy about buying these sort of thing anyday!

idcloisonne thanks for your reply. I know the material, but I m interested in who made this brooch (individual of jewelry company) because its such an interesting piece and it reminds me of Do It Yourself work!
