I found this vase at an antiques market where it was sitting on a table with a lot of other stuff with an “Everything on this table DKK 100 ($ 18)” sign and that was too good for me to pass up! It is a relatively tall vase (24 cm / 9.5 in), decorated with a nice blue drip glaze and in very good condition. It was manufactured at the Villeroy & Boch factory, which traces its history back to the 18th century and is probably better known today as a producer of kitchenware and bathroom appliances. I assume V&B is relatively well-known for the members of this forum, so I don’t have to repeat its history in further detail…However, I am not sure of the date, so that's why it's categorized as an unsolved mystery. Perhaps someone in this forum can help? Based on the style my guess is early 20th century – perhaps around 1920, but I haven’t been able to find this specific mark and the information I’ve found so far indicates wildly different dates – everything from the 1910’s to the 1950’s.

Mark: ‘V&B’underlined, with the line continuing into a feather-like shape. Stamped ‘Made in Luxembourg’ (also in black) and the number 274 / 3 (or maybe 'B').

    Unsolved Mystery

Thanks, Sean, for the comments, and the rest of you for the loves. Does anyone know a 'before date'? For how long was this mark used?
