Oh well, I might as well post my bakelite bangle collection. I tried to make 2 towers with my bangles but I couldn't find anything to hold them steady. So while I was taking a first picture one of my bakelite towers collapsed and my bangles fell on the stone floor! I guess you can imagine I freaked out a bit? :-)
Needless to say I stopped building towers and just took these pics instead. So no impressive pictures here like the ones Vmode made of her collection...
I have about 35 bracelets and a few stretch bracelets in bakelite. I bought none of them online but instead I did the old treasure hunt on flea markets. The most I paid for any of these was about 3 euro, but more often I just paid 0,5 or 1 euro.
I like the green and the brown ones most. I wear these with anything.
You know, love doesn't come with a price and I m really in love with bakelite!
I cant wait to find some more!
Hope you enjoy
Hey Val, I love going to flea markets and I have been collecting for a few years now. I wish I could find some more or some really nicely carved ones. But it seems bakelite has never been very popular where I live: so I dont find many and certainly nobody around here collects it! So I m very happy CW exists! It makes me feel less crazy when I look at my bakelite collection :-)
The ones I got were all lucky finds. I do like the plain mustard ones too. I wear them together with mississipi mud, red and green spacers when I dont forget to put some jewelry on. I think I like looking like a colored flag or something :-)
Thanks Nutsabotas for your very nice comment and for loving my collection! And a big thank you to Tom613, Sean, AmberRose, Hunter, vetraio, geo26, kyratango, aghcollect and Moonstonelover for appreciating my bangles.
CW helps affirm our crazy as normal! Besides, what's wrong with treasuring things from the past, and look at this lot! Wonderful!
What a lot, you can start a store! You and your daughters can change bangle every day! Nice collection.
Thanks Agram for your comment. Indeed, I could change balngles every day with my daughters. I hope they will collect bakelite when they get older.
For now, they already know how to test bakelite, and they have known that since they were 3 and 4,5 years old!!! :-)
Thanks racer4four for your comment and for loving my collection
Wow... They are gorgeous.... I love your other Bakelite pieces as well...
