    I love this piece because the milk glass has a old quality to it that I haven't seen in any other pieces I have found. I am still trying to find out the pattern name and manufacturer. I was just walking through a thrift store and there is was! Love it!

      Vallérysthal Portieux #3790 compote from 1907 catalog. It's not unusual to not find names for patterns in catalogs, as many maker simply assigned numbers to their wares.

      here is a link with short reviews on some glass book relative to 'pattern glass' including a couple specific to milk glass. Time involved studying glass is the best teacher.
