This vase measures about 9.25 inches tall. The decor, although it resembles blue "silberiris" is actually not. You will notice that it has threads of darker blue mixed in and applied to the surface in a manner that looks like it was painted on with a brush. There is a similar decor on the Loetz website, called "Heliotrope with dark blue and silver". This shape is shown in both the Ricke II line drawing book under Series I Production Number 7468 (photo number 3 above) and the Loetz Series II book by Jitka Lnenickova under Series II Production Number 822 (photo number 4 above). Neither book lists a possible decor which matches this one. Most of them are Papillons or Rubin Phänomen genre 6893. We are currently researching this decor to see if we can pin it down. Further research is necessary. The ground color is Creta. The decor can also be found on a cobalt blue ground.
I always loved this shape. Nice score.
I think your on to something here...
I know you'll crack the case!
Hi Dave
Nice Shape ... Think we pinned the Mercur down on a piece of Franks last year some time .... Sage green spots with a gold decor .... had pictures of a pale (silver) Blue spotted piece from eB and I think the third piece of the puzzle was one of Alisa's with again sage green spots ....
Found it ...
