It is not cast iron, it is made of chrome-molly steel. It is a low pressure tank, CO2 runs about 1800PSI. That is called a 20lb CO2 tank, it is filled on a scale. They take the tare weight of the tank and add 20 lbs of liquid CO2, and yes, these are filled with liquid, not gas. The valve is a CGA-320(Compressed Gas Association). They usually have to be hydro-statically tested every 10 years, sometimes 5 years depending on the age, the manufacture date is stamped on the cylinder. You can find the test history stamped on the cylinder also. These are spun-molded, no welds. The thing sticking out opposite the threaded valve connection is a pressure release safety. All the info is stamped on the shoulder of the cylinder, there should be a DOT(Department of Transportation) number on there also.. Hope this helps.
I also have one of these, does anyone know what they are worth since they are so rare?
