Also known as Dresser Box, jewelry casket, etc.
This was my Granny's. It is in quite good shape for its age. The amazing part is that it STILL has it original Silk inside on Both the Top and Bottom. I had this looked at by some Antique people and they said it was very Rare to have the silk still intact top and bottom. It is also marked on the bottom.
My family history item -- love it!!

Your Wave Crest box is gorgeous Rose, such lovely hand painted blue flowers! This design is called egg crate, there is a fabulous reference book from the late 80s called Wave Crest, The Glass of CF Monroe by Wilfred Cohen, it's still available on that "a" book website, all-photos with brief descriptions (I got a used copy, great book) you can see examples of your dresser box as well as the painted design, lovely picture book. The satin lining in my box has stiffened over time, has yours, I agree it's rare to have both a top & bottom lining - think many removed the bottom satin for easier storage. I would love to get a Kelva or Nakara box because they are beautifully colored whereas most Wave Crest are white or gray. Nice family legacy pieces for us
Just sharing another link with some history too https://www.bargainjohn.com/wavecrest-kelva-nakara/
Great Wavecrest info Rose, thank you so much for the link! Great to see you back here & always love looking thru your posts, you are such an inspiration to me. Your Wavecrest opal box here is beautiful, I have a few of theirs plus one Nakara, my mom had a small collection of them
Luv ya Jenni
