Can anyone out there give me details into this sign.
Its marked STONEHOUSE in the lower right side of the sign.
Sign is 15'' long x 7.5'' tall and is pretty heavy for its size.

I can only assume it was a mining sign.

It makes sense to be a mining sign, is it porcelain?

Chris, You have an extremely rare and one of the most sought after underground mining signs made by J.W. Stonehouse signs. It is porcelain and yours is in mint shape! Very Nice! these were used underground to mark exit and escape routes and yours dates to very early 20th century.
