I bought this years ago at a flea market in Nova Scotia..it is 12 inches high ..little glass pieces are covered over it ...when its wet it turns darker but when it dries it looks as it does now with a powdery effect...what kind of glass is it?

      Maybe a type of gluechip?
Gluechip (the group member) will know.

nittygritty1962, I have never seen anything like it. racer4four it's not gluechip. I am sure someone will come up with an answer in the glass circle.

The closest I can find is Skrdlovice "Galaxy" vase by Miloslava Svobodova crossed with a cut top from a post-war Harrachov or Prachen vase. The tiny glass pellets are called "frit" and are rolled onto the hot glass, melting into it (but not completely).
      Is it satin glass?

I have no idea but seems it could be satin it dries fast after being wet

The base is awful - it doesn't look like a commercial piece for the Czech export market but after that... Maybe glassmessages.com?

I don't mean to sound too negative - I certainly have one or two which are similarly unknown but let me know if you find out more.

The pieces of glass are melted on..when you wet the vase it looks colred then dries fast giving it a melted candle wax effect
