My step-mother is from Nice, (pronounced Neese) France. She came to the U.S. as a college foreign exchange student and didn't speak any english. During her schoolings she took on a part-time job as a live-in Nanny. Françoise, my step-mom told me she learned to speak English by watching Sesame Street with the kids she was once sitting for. I speak horrible French as Françoise tells me, due to I roll my "R"s too much as if I am speaking German. Anyhow, as many of you might have noticed. I do post a lot of French items. My step mom has played a very important part in my life. Because of she I was able to learn about a lot more about foreign cultures, international cuisines and languages. This stamp, as well as the many other French items that I have posted previously, are kind of a "Me saluting her" as well as sharing with all of you wonderful CWers that have kindly appreciated my collection. =)
