Hi. Can anyone share any info on this Baby Plate, it was my mom's and I can't find too much information about it. She is from England. I think it is Earthenware, its pretty heavy, has a Shelley stamp on the back, but the registration number doesn't turn up any information.

It's one of the highly collectible designs by Mabel Lucie Attwell.

Here’s an article from the potteries.org with some info on the artist. You might find registration info on that site too. it’s a great resource for Staffordshire pottery. I can’t see the mark too clearly, but f it has the word “CHINA” under Shelley, it from the early 1930’s, if not then it’s the 1950’s. http://www.thepotteries.org/advert_wk/138.htm

Stamp says Shelley Ware England, it is very hard to make it out.

According to what I’ve seen Atwell produced the designs in the 1920-30’s, but haven’t found your particular mark in any of my searches. Thepotteries.org have the registration marks in that 74000 group being registered in 1929, but the pattern could have been used repeatedly for many years after that registration date. I would contact the Shelley collectors club at shelleyclub.com and ask them when this mark was used, it’s not on their website, so may be somewhat unusual
