I'm a cedar chest fanatic, doesn't matter which company makes them, I love them all. I especially like the ones from the 20s and 30s and when one becomes available on Craigs List, and the price is right, I try to get it.
This one was found on the Palm Springs CA CL page. I got it for $80. The guy said it belonged to his grandmother. It was in basically good shape except that the legs were loose and the top was damaged.
Some veneer had to be replaced. I tried that for the first time and was successful. I also re-stained it and put a coat of satin finish polyurathane on it.
The serial number shows it was made in 1928.
It measures 44" wide x 22" high x 19" deep.
