I picked this up from a garage sale website. I planned on just cleaning it up ( dusting it off literally) and using it for storage for games and what not. I didn't think it was as old as it appears. I know nothing about vintage canvas covered trunks. It appears to be a steamer trunk but there is a slight curve to the top. Not sure if that is still considered a "flat top". Any idea on age?
Manufacturer?
Is there a specific location where I could find a manufacturer name on these old trunks. So far, I have not found anything. There is some handwriting on the side but it is hard to read. I suspect it is an address probably from first or second owner, as the handwriting is very old. All I made out of it was "Cook", " 1925 Jefferson E". And that is really guessing at it.
