purchased at the watch shop online last week for a reduced price of £104
powered by light so needs no battery-lasts for 12 months in totol darkness when exposed to light on a cloudy day for 60 hours, gold plated bracelet and dial-see also a citizen eco-drve watch purchased at same time

WOW that is amazing. I have one I bought in Viet Nam (1968) that I think is self winding which was kind of high tech back then. This running off light is something. I wonder what keeps it running 12 months if there is no battery to store power? Interesting to say the least.
Replying-it has a rechargeable cell like aa batteries which charge up with a charger
I appreciate the reply. I have two boxes of watches but believe it or not I don't collect them. I like watches but my interest ends there except in instances like this where it is unusual. I get them in boxes of stuff I buy and rather than throw them away I toss them in a box so when I need a band or a pin I can scrounge one up. Once again I appreciate the reply and learning something new.
