My dad was just getting ready to take this with his next load of scrap. Said he got it years ago and never got around to refinishing it. Glad I stopped him. It is a really amazing bench. Even though I will probably never get around to finishing it I'm still glad it will survive until someone can. Does anyone know the time frame these were being produced or any history?
I don't know the name on it but my father in law gave me one like it back around 1978 and told me that was from the depression. Mine had oak slats that were old and weathered. I sand blasted mine and used stove black on it and replaced the oak with poplar. Eventually someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
Denver and Rio Grande Railway/ Railroad?
@fhrjr2 How much was the offer if you don't mind me asking? @rustfarm I am pretty sure it is the Denver & Rio Grande rail way. Elitches in Denver has one like it but a lot longer.
I believe I sold mine for $150. I think this would have been a bench as opposed to part of a jump seat.
