Stunning painting, ours had it on the machine but that plate work I have never seen such detail...welcome to CW from another Aussie...
Thanks anne and bernadette.yes done alot of research on this it is different from all the rest ive seen.hardware made in orange county usa and badged pinnock on the front as in pics it has a cross on the front of cabinet different from others ive seen cheers
You'll see many different sewing machines marked Pinnock - a company started in 1891 and was in operation until 1967. They never made machines, all imported and badged.
Thanks for that bernadette.im just wondering did they do one offs for say vips or big companies?
I really don't know. A one off machine from America seems unlikely.
Not the machine itself the outer cabinet .and the pinnock badge on the front which I havnt come across one like it yet.i have seen a new home machine with the same painting on it but not with this cabinet thanks again
Bernadette : I am restoring a New Home sewing machine for a customer . I have been looking on the internet for information and a picture of one like it and I have been unable to find out much about it . The model number is #3967345 and I think it was made sometime around 1919 . What is different about it is that it has a decal on the front arm that says Berkeley , California and a picture of a woman's head . This machine is in a bentwood case and has an older electric motor that still works . I have it all cleaned up and working and I am now working on the top of the case . It was missing some veneer . Can you tell me anything about this machine ? I have not seen another one that has the same decal on the front . -- Thanks
