I don't collect studio glass typically, but I couldn't resist this little iridescent nugget. Less than 2" tall, and about as wide, this piece was made by the Zephyr Glass Works, then located in Santa Cruz, California. It isn't really a vase - more like a fantasy piece. The folds in the glass highlight the iridescence beautifully.
I haven't been able to find out much about this studio, other than they ceased California operations in the mid 1980s, and the guy that started the studio is long since retired. If anyone else knows more about Zephyr and/or the artists who worked there, please let me know.
loving this item...............still, and again, and again...
This is great!! Love it!!
Great colors!
Zephyr glass works also produced Aurene, feathered gold/green, cased glass light shades reminiscent of Quezal shades and etched with 'Zephyr' at the top of the shade
