Here is the little stove after I took everything apart and reassembled it. I started with boiling water and then cooked chicken after the stove black burned off. One of you warned me to make sure the stove was cured before frying the chicken, the tea and coffee had an aftertaste, so I did not drink it. The cooking surface now appears seasoned and would be too messy, for me, for indoor cooking- unless tshtf.
Outside, it was nice and old-timey to watch the chicken cook and the smoke come from the chimbly; or chimley, lol.
Yeah, it is a little small, but when I stoked her the heat really cranked out. It is a coal stove and I guess coal would be more efficient in terms of fuel usage-v- cook heat. The nice thing about this is it is bigger than a hibachi grill, and if I have a screen over the chimney, it is exempt from my local fire ban.
I guess I will have to use this in place of the Chimenia instead of my four burner :(.
So what are you burning in it? I just bought this very same little laundry stove the other day. I know I could use charcoal, but can you burn small wood chunks? Thanks for any info.
".... I know I could use charcoal, but can you burn small wood chunks?..." My understanding is you can burn wood fuel in a coal stove but you cannot burn coal in a wood stove. I plan on using wood or charcoal during burn restrictions.
