I was curious if anyone here nay be able to assist me. I found this old metal button it was buried in the ground. It is a large button i found it with my detector on the grounds of a former Mayo Clinic hospital / Mental health hospital the hospital housed and cared for POWs during the second world war most of those gentleman were from Germany i believe. The hospital was located in Galesburg Illinois. If anyone would happen to know any information about my button i would so very much love them to contact me if that is possible. My e-mail address is haeye64@yahoo.com I located your very nice site on the internet and hope you folks can please help me.

    Sincerely
    David

After looking at it upside down, I decided that the lions are English style.

My gosh i meant to try to get that picture turned around...I will attempt that..Ok English style lions..any idea of age or what that type of button possible was associated with?.

Not my expertise, if I even have one, but sometimes the number of points on a crown can point you in the right direction, but not always. I think the style of the lions make it really old to be found in that area but not my expertise. Has my interest.

The way the background lines are done, look to me like a 1960's blazer button. Often they were pseudo royal arms.
