Just picked up this interesting tool as a possible Father's Day gift, but I'm having trouble finding any info on old Rockwell hand tools. Anyone know what it's for, how it's used, who would use it? Much obliged.

You are missing the brass Ferrel but should be able to find one at Home Depot or Lowe's for under $1. In that you don't know what it is I hope you didn't buy it for a mechanic.

      Nope, not for a mechanic.

It will be a unique gift, even if the new owner gets cornered.

It's a bearing scraper , a mechanics tool for scraping Babbitt bearings. Babbitt was a cheap and easily renewable bearing surface used in hit and miss engines , car and truck engines and many other applications.
