I am a fostoria glass collector. I have mostly Oakleaf and Oakwood, in Dawn (rose), green, and Canival. I stumbled on this piece on e-bay. I reconized the Fleus De Lis handle and knew it was made by Fostoria (I also have two extact Candy Boxes in Oakwood Carnival and Oakleaf green pattern). However, the seller didn't. I bought it for $24.00. So, here is what I know......Between 1920-1929 fostoria introduced "Color" dinnerware pieces. I believe that this is a special addition piece, No. 66 Hammered Silver, in Amber, and Green dinnerware. What I also discovered is that Fostoria had there own Silver Smith. In fact, they contracted him out to other glass companies. I love this piece because the sterling silver adds class to the piece, and its has wonderfully flawless patina. I have looked high and low for similar pieces and came up empty handed. These pictures do not do this dish justice! I truly stumbled on a very rare find. thank you all for reading my story! hope to have more treasures for you to read about. Yours Truly, Ginny.

Does appear to be the Fostoria #2331-3 candy box but Central Glass also made a similar candy box:

There are also other makers with a similar fleur-de-lis finial/handle; Co-Operative Flint, Lancaster, Inwald

I stand corrected about the handle, i didn't know of the other two glass companies. learn something new everyday.....thanks for your help!

      Hello SparksGinny!
Could you please share where you found all the info on the Sterling rim, etc? I have a large plate (see my profile pic) and have been searching off and on for months along with help from the GLGD, trying to find the information you have. Thanks for posting, very lovely dish.

      Hello Jazzie56,
Thank you so much for the lovely complement! I looked at your pic and your plate looks to be Fostoria (I'm pretty sure, but have been wrong before). If it is, its a 12" lunch Tray. My reverence material is a book "Fostoria Its first Fifty Years" written by Hazel Marie Weatherman. Unless I'm mistaken, it has everything you need to know about Fostoria's entire history. There is a couple of other websites that may be helpful for sterling silver and Glass Identification.
1.) Antique Silver Overlay and Deposti.mlt. 2.) Antique Center Glass ID.mlt. Coxsackie Antique Center.
I hope this helps you in your research Jazzie.....BTW, you have a very beautiful plater, great find!
      Happy Hunting to you!

      Yours Truly, Ginny.

Hi, Ginny.... I really love this Fostoria piece. I think the green is just beautiful. I love the fleur-de-lis finial and how the base has divided sections.
