This is my latest find. I bought it even though many of the rhinestones are missing. It will be a project for a rainy day to replace all of them. When I saw this pin I was pin, I was mesmerized by the delicate design. I have never seen one like this before and would appreciate any help in finding out what it is. The pin has the number 299 stamped on the back. The pin is brass and the clasp is in the shape of a c. It is about 2 by 1 and ¼ inches. My guess is that it is German.
Thanks for looking:)
Thanks a lot, aghcollect and vetraio50:)
Also many thanks, SEAN68 and nutsabotas6:)
its beautiful, cant wait to see it when you restore...just so sweet...
Thanks, AnneLanders. I am hunting for replacement stones. I'll post a photo if /when I am finished:)
I took a look, and I also believe it's German. Can you test for silver? It could be Rhinestones are paste. I will take even a better look, but I have to do something, you hear again from me later on!
Thanks so much, Agram.m! I didn't test it. It almost looks like Rhodium plated. And yes, it could be paste. :)
Missing stones or not it is beautiful & looking at the pin from what I have read the longer it is the older it is. Wether this is correct or not I cannot really say as I'm still learning & always will be so to me all tips are helpful. Have a great day.
Yes, Zowie, I have read that, too. I love researching and finding info on my finds. Hopefully, one day soomeone will see this and tell me more about it.
I had just log out & went back to Emails & seen two new ones had come in so thought I would check them out. I'm glad to here I had read correctly as yours seems to be a long pin so it's a good sign it should have some age. But the back of the brooch itself doesn't seem to have the wear & tear that I thought it might have but then again how would that part rally wear.
Yes, it's a mystery:)
I looked through one of my jewelry boxes today and came across this pin. I don't know why I had not seen it before but there is a mark right next to the hinge. It looks like three numbers. The problem is that I cannot read it:(
Can anyone help?
