I have a set of coffee and tea pot, sugar bowl, milk jug and biscuit container together with a tray. The identification on the bottoms reads Dec 2000 or Decor 2000. It is ceramic and silver with a pattern. How can I find out its history. It belonged to my grandmother so maybe 1900's?
Thank you for any help you can give me

That is probably the decorators number. That was used sometimes on German porcelain. No other marks?

The biscuit tin had the imprint (on the bottom) of a shield shape and underneath the numbers 2838/1. The teapot 1557. Sugar bowl 5150. The milk jug is not legible and there is no other mark on the coffee pot.

      This is fabulous!
So good to see them all together!

I believe it is made by the Waechterbach company in Germany and designed by Christian Neureuter who took over as art director at the factory in 1903.

(Waechtersbacher Steinsgutfabrik & Wurtembergische MetallwarrenFabrik or WMF?)

Neureuter linked with the Darmstadt Artists Colony, according to this site:

Wonderful set. It has a very modern style I think.
It's great you have the whole set and the family tie to it!

I have the jug in two sizes. Your's is missing the counterbalanced lid. I suspect I have the same small jug and what is probably a coffee pot.
