This lock is 7" by 5" and a mortise ( set into the wood ) type. It has the number 11 just over the keyhole. There is no key and is locked, so I can not mount it on the trunk. Can I get a key made at any locksmith? The trunk is a Dome/Camelback, Herringbone stamped tin top, Roses pattern on center front and plain metal everywhere else and also bottom wheels. Thinking this is 1880 - 1900, but the lock is unusual. Haven't taken any hardware off to see any patent numbers. All hardware & handmade nails are firmly in place.
That shouldn't be any trouble for a decent locksmith. I can pick locks & wish I lived in your neighbourhood so I could make you a key for free.
