This is beautiful and beautifully framed charcoal done in 1953. It is signed either Frances Zuirk or Frances Quirk. I believe it is Zuirk but not certain. These photo's do not do it justice as the colors are so much richer. I purchased this in Spokane, Wa. Spokane was during and just after WWII a military town which means it may or may not have been painted there.
I know nothing about this piece of art work accept that it is stunning.
Any information would be appreciated. This is truly a post war piece of art.
I am thrilled with this painting because it is like looking into the eyes of the past. It makes me think of Ann Frank.

Thank you vetraio50. It sure could be the same person. The time frames are correct and there are lots of detail in both.

vetraio50 you indeed solved the mystery. I had it confirmed by an auction house that just sold another of his works. Thank you so much.
