This clear-rubina gourd-shaped vase is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1901, by William Henry Sparrow (just legible WHS in an hexagonal lozenge). It is ribbed up from the four corners of its polished base. 18.5cm high.
Another unusual one, do you think they could be by the same maker?
Fran, I just don't know - I am learning all the time, like you. That's one of the reasons to put it out here - in case someone can put me right. I don't even *know* it's Czech but imagine it must be.
I'd say Czech, too Ian - love the shape!
