This little guy is about 12" tall. There is a potter's mark that simply says "Mexico" beneath what I've termed a sun spiral. Any information on the mark or the piece would be gratefully appreciated.

I wonder if you can post the dimensions of this. I have one almost identical that is unmarked. Mine doesn't have the dimples or the red clay showing. I can tell you that I bought mine from an estate sale and the original owner collected incense burners from all over the world. She thought she had gotten this one around the time of the Korean war. If I can find the pictures of mine I will post them for you to compare.

Mine is 12 3/4" tall, 7" wide (knee to knee) and about 5 1/2", front to back. It is totally amazing to have run across another one, within one day of posting! I found mine at a flea market, more than ten years ago. I wasn't even sure whether it had a function, other than being decorative. Perhaps someone will recognize the mark, and we can find out more.

The dimensions of mine are exactly the same. These are the only two I have seen. I do know Mexican potters made copies of things like Mayan and Aztec art pieces. I will look up one of their museums and email them my pictures and see if they reply.
