    Welcome to all,

This is no longer a mystery, as solved by wonderful knowledgeable individuals on this great site, namely Vetraio50 and Antiquerose.
Note: it is made of a reddish clay, as the chip indicates. The plate size is 8" x 8" and almost 2" deep. Most of the gold is intact with minor wear.

We now know this about this wonderful plate, and I will add more as I determine more detail.

The plate is made by the Zaccagnini Ceramics Studio in Florence, Italy.
This plate was made between 1937 - 1958 when the "Z" with the squiggly line was replaced by script spelling out "Zaccagnini"

That's all for now, with more later...

    Regards, Kirk

      Zaccagnini, Italy.
The Z mark dates from 1937 onwards after the death of Ugo Zaccagnini.

Walter Pellegrino fills one in about Ugo Zaccagnini and the later works like these here:

Well guys, Vetraio and Rose, you are the greatest. My deep thanks for your help.
I will review all and try to come up with a revised description.
Last question, any idea of the emblem in the middle. And I guess the C.394/1 means 394th plate from the first edition. But what does the C mean.

Always more questions, yada yada yada. Kirk

      Hello All,
Upgrade my description, but will continue to define plate and characteristics as the info become clear.

      Again, many thanks, Kirk
