Jug, attr. Göran Wärff (Pukeberg, ca. 1960)

This is the third glass item I got from Carlos on my last birthday. It's probably a design by Göran Wärff and it has got s veneer wrapping around in order to avoid lost of temperature and making holding it much easier... not really different in idea from the cardboard one you can find around cofee Styrofoam cups.

There is a series of dimilar jugs only with owl and birds faces on top and with or without the veneer wrapping. I've seen an image of one of them with a Pukeberg label saying the designer was Wärff, that's why I do believe this must be one of his designs too.

I have to say I knew I was getting this jug as a gift from Carlos as i had to buy it myself (well, with his money). Once it arrived home I had to handle the unopened package to him and wait untill my birthday arrived... isn't that tribly cruel? :( I also have to thank someone here at CW for this beautiful jug. Someone who didn't bid for it so I could get it. Isn't he absolutely adorable?
