I just got this in yesterday from France and jumped it to the head of the line so I can get opinions on the glass house that produced it. There are similar décor examples in Welz production and I had another collector suggest Kralik and maybe Ruckl or Scailmont. This vase measures 11" tall and 11" wide and is quite heavy...I had my lovely assistant hold the vase to help show just how big this is. I would like to hear feed back from the group and if anyone has similar decors please post them.
I was watching this one too, I find we stumble upon a lot of same stuff. I did not realise it was this big from the listing, so must have been great surprise. When i saw it at first i thought Bohemian too, the shape suggests it should have a flower frog on the rim, but as I see from Your photos the upper rim is fire polished, and that kind of rim probably never has a frog. what can You tell about the ware on the base, weight and thickness of the glass? My first impressions were Bohemian but when I looked at it later I thought Legras or modern Legras inspired glass.
Hi MacArt...I believe that the rim is ground and not fire polished...I will have to get better pics tonight. The base shows some wear to it. the vase is heavy and the glass is thick.
Mmmmmmmm..... somehting says Scailmont to me ...mmmmm and nice assistant!
NEW PICTURES ADDED
I thought maybe scailmont...but have not seen any like it from them. I am leaning towards Welz or Kralik.
And Thanks ozmarty...I will pass that on to my assistant... :)
Thanks for the input czechman.
