Not to be confused with the promo picture that is all over the internet. This one is very rare. It was made for the premier of the King Creole movie and soooo hard to find. They come up once in a blue. They gave it to the people who were invited to the pre.ied in a Leather Case which is tooled in 24k gold which is in roigh condition but ive only seen one otger one at an auction with the case. Elvis collectors enjoy!!! aron.cline@gmail.com
I have seen this and yes it is a HTF photo. I do believe though someone put it in that case it did not come that way . These were giving to all those that went to premiere so that that could be hundreds and likely most saved them . To bad it has a crease but still a HTF photo and nice addition to Elvis collection . Was the other one in exact same case you saw ? Could you show fron of case ?
My other reason to question case as original is how did photo get damage if always in the case ? I collected Elvis for years . I don't anymore just kept his 45's / I do love his voice he could sing like no other !
My mother got it at premier. She is not a crazy Elvis fan and would not put a promo picture of his in a leather 24k gold filled case. It got damaged as well as the case got damaged. Don't know if it was seperate incidences but both got bent up somehow. I'm sure she took it out time to time. Either way my mother would never buy a case that elaberate for an Elvis photo. It was given to her at the premier with the case. Also their were only about 250 at the premier that night she said. And yes the one I saw at auction was same case just much better condition and it got big money.
Here is pic of front of case. Sides are rough no wuestion
If you think it is worth big bucks it might be a good idea to have it authenticated in writing.
I think its very rare. Well the photo in general is a rare one but I know the case is even rarer. I collect a whole bunch of different things and never thought so much of it until the auction and was like... we have that! I don't know where to authenticate something like that.. you have an idea?
The most respected for Elvis items is PSA/DNA Authentication. Any serious collector will want to see a COA before dropping big bucks. It will cost you a few hundred to have it authenticated but if it is a big ticket item it will be worth it.
No way that photo came originally in that case.
I guess my mother is a liar and you were there.
She's not a Elvis fan yet she went bout band boughtva leather case tooled in 24k gold too.
You have been misinformed, just like with that Franklin Mint pocket watch that you were representing as being a unique item that came from the Kennedy family.
LOL...funny post.
