This is another of my favorite decors...love the black with the bright orange spatter and stripes. Measures 10 1/2" tall by 4 3/4" wide.

I admire your matching decors with your uploads. You must have access to some fabulous sources for your glass. It would take me years to find two matching items where I live. RER(BOB)

agree Bob...I think he has a hidden treasure chest...

In my small amount of time collecting Jags, I think I have 10-12 spatter glasses, I'm noticing the ones that get sold to me as Kralik have a certain way of lining their pieces on the base. A more defined staging. Whereas the one that was said to be Welz, it seems to be smoother and they started the spatter earlier up the shaft of vase or bowl. Mixing in the colour work earlier from the different colours is the best way I can describe it with my amateur opinion.

Your base looks very similar to my Kralik attributed colour set up. I've not seen enough of Ruckl so I'm keen to study them more...

Interesting the one that was suggested as Loetz has a different style again...smoother mixing but different strokes to the Welz style.

Now, all of the above can also I'm sure be explained in design. They chose to do it that way, not due to the company "style" but the "style" of the pattern.....
Gosh does that all make sense?

And look at me, trying to make sense of this with a man who has so many more in his collection and so much more research under his belt. But I hope my fresh, rabbit at head lights suggestion either makes you smile or say, hey there's an idea...proving really that there is so much more for us all to learn...

LOUMANAL and AnneLanders...thanks for your posts. I have been a bit lucky, but I have also made my own luck...I have (not so much now) spent countless hours scouring ebay and various other sources all over the world... met other collectors/friends who have also helped. You never know where buying one piece can lead you. An example...I located an obscure website overseas selling stuff kinda like an ebay or craigs list. I ended up buying a few pieces off it. I bought one from a seller...then he posted a few more that I bought. That led to me uncovering that he was sitting on a large collection he had collected over the past 20+ years...and most of it was Czech. Now he is also a glass dealer and travels to shows all over Europe etc. Long story short, I bought a large group of 22 pieces (I am currently posting these now) and then we worked out a deal for a second group of 32 pieces...which will probably ship out in a week or so. I guess the moral of the story is you never know what one simple purchase can lead to. Of course I have put in many hours to locate my sources. I have learned that the good ones are hard to find and when you find them, you have to buy them... :) I know not every collector wants or has the resources to buy groups...but it lowers the cost per piece when you buy it that way...making it a good investment. (I hope) lol

Thanks sklo42... I was not sure how that was going to turn out. :)

Also Anne...you are learning a lot...and you make good and valid points. I find myself being more of an ART collector vs a SCHOLAR ...lol I have an eye and can recognize the good ones...and I place them (in my mind) in the glass houses that I believe made them...if I am unsure...I lean on my smarter friends for their input... :)

GREAT glass and concur that we (collectors/ dealers) MAKE our own luck-- running down leads/ following up with contacts/ phone calls/ going to shows and shops/ scouring the internet/ etc......

It all amounts to WORK, no matter if the piece is for your collection or to sell.

When folks compliment my collection or show table, I always remind them that there was a lot of WORK that went into every acquisition!

Jags, I love to hear how other people gather their collections - thanks for sharing. You have amazing groupings, which one usually doesn't see. I know what you mean about it taking hours - work, and for me it is also the thrill of the hunt! :)

Thanks Michelleboo7. I have to agree with you on "the thrill of the hunt" its quite addicting .. :)
