Seal Shaped Figurine Display Bowl by SASAKI HANDCRAFTED JAPAN (see below for credit of ID). Amber Seal and he has a hole in his back for like a planter. He is HEAVY, and a solid chunk of glass. Not sure if it is something for a Desk (to hold paper clips), or a big PW, or just for knick knacks. Good wear on the bottom edges.

    The size is:
    ~ about 9 inches long
    ~ about 4.5 inches Wide
    ~ about 4.5 inches High

    Back Opening Size:
    ~ about 5 inches by 2.75 inches

I have one right here in clear glass, and yes has paper clips int it! I always thought it was French but your amber has me steering away from that now.

When I checked Google images one comes up in Etsy as Viking, one as Viking/Sasaki? (with the question mark).

I don't think Sasaki- amber wasn't one of their pressed glass colours.

      That Serek one looks different.
Go to bed! and try again tomorrow!

That is sooo cool how you both did solve this together and miles apart!!! That was fun just reading it and following the links ;) Funny how no one within the links really knows what it is either! I guess what ever you want it to be.
