This doll belonged to my mother, who was born in 1922. When she was still up and able, put some money into having this old doll restored and clothed. If it was her doll when she was little, it would have been from the 1920s. But I'm not sure whether she said it had been in the family longer. She's about 24 inches tall with legs stretched straight, fully jointed, and she has sleep eyes. She seems to have a lot in common with an Armand Marseille doll that Vestaswind posted a link for below. (The second pic is NOT intended as doll porno... it's just to show how the doll constructed.) Can anyone tell me anything about her just from the photos?

Look on the back of her neck for the mold number. She looks to have a wood jointed fashion body

She looks like she might be a Jumeau

Or an Armand Marseille. Her clothes are not original to her, and from the picture maybe the wig too. From this view point it looks synthetic

Thanks for the info, Vesta. Correct... the clothes aren't original, presumably also not the wig. I was not able to find any numbers or markings anywhere, though I confess I didn't take her clothes completely off. Torso and limbs are hard, and I'm not sure what the material is. I took some more photos that show the hip joints and how she's constructed, if that would help. Will post later.

From the broken finger I'm now thinking composition. Check out this link, and look at the body, and the back of the head. This is where the mark should be. This is an Armand Marseille. Other company's might not have such large marks.

Again, thanks. From what I can see of the back of the head (I don't know how the hair is attached and I'm afraid of damaging something), I don't think it could have that much marking. But the construction looks very similar, and so does the face. I'll add a pic of her that shows her construction.

All it takes is two numbers to ID it. Without it I'm afraid she is unknown for now
