My father purchased this pedal car for me...I'm guessing in the late 50's...1960 at the latest. The decal on the side reads "Speedway 500 Pace Car." "Chain Drive" also appears on the side. I've seen pics of similar cars but without "chain drive" on the side. (My dad worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber...thus the GY decal!) I took the car with me when I left home and have kept it over 3 additional moves over my lifetime. Given the condition, I'm wondering if it is something collectors would be interested in. Have also thought about restoring myself...few bolts and other things missing...like fender ornaments. All thoughts and comments welcome.
Beautiful and welcome to cw !!
If I were expecting kids in the future, I would restore it as you don't want to pass it down this way. Better the chance it will not get thrown out in the future, restore it. If just for memories, leave it or restore it. It's yours & your choice. Bonne chance.
Oh, and welcome to CW, the webs asylum.
Restoring it could lesson the value aside from replaing missing pieces. I think it looks great as is.
