I recently purchased this vase at an auction, and other than being old, Bohemian (I believe), and, in my opinion, lovely, I know nothing about it. :) It is actually a quite an unusual vase...it is white opalescent glass on the interior, which is then cased in clear glass, and then has the most amazing colors of glass spattered over the exterior. The overall coloring is sort of a peachy amber and pink, with blue, green, burgundy and lavender spatter - even including an opaque white spatter glass. The entire vase has a pink iridescence to it, giving it a very rich coloring overall. I have not come across a similar vase before, and a few other collectors I have spoken with haven't, either. Any thoughts are very welcome! :)
Definately different .. looks like golden bronze splashes..
I can picture one of those Carl Stolzle Art Nouveau metal mounts on this one .
very interesting piece...how tall?
Thanks, Marty! Yes, I agree with you about about the mount. I wondered at first if it once had one as well, but it doesn't look like it ever did, as there are no chips or wear at all on the rim.
Thank you, Jags - it is 7" tall - sorry for not including it in my description. :)
Thank you, Leah!
