Hi everyone. I somehow ended up at a great estate sale today. Lots of nice pottery and furniture. I will be going back early tomorrow morning to see if I missed anything, hopefully no one else stumbled upon it!!!
I am hoping someone has comments, thoughts or knowledge on the next few pieces I am about to post. This set, obviously handmade and painted. Each piece feels a little bit different in size and width. I don't see any markings....but I think they are old, but something makes me a little suspicious. The plates have holes on the backs. Meaning they may have been made as decorative pieces and not to be used as plates. I wonder if this means anything??? A really great set nonetheless. Please if you have any ideas share with me!!! Enjoy!
Would these be considered redware? terracotta? or something else?
thank you for the love aghcollect!
paris1925. Thank you for the information. i certainly see the similarities. My set looks a little more "primitive" than some of the other examples I've seen on the internet. Thanks again!
thanks for the loves: doc, moonstone, forthelove, agram, mike, racer, v, elisabethan!
