    I'm not sure what this knife or dagger is or how old,I was told it's an old antique knife,has some type of designs on scabbard,I was told by a friend it's middle east,please help id this item,it's not heavy,very light.Inside hold has a piece of wood.The handle has brass wrapped with some type of wire,I believe the material under brass is bone.

      Hard to say how old it is. They turn out a lot of old looking knives and sword for the tourist industry.

      I'm not sure but I throught large daggers or knives are heavy,this one is light,the man who sold it to me said it had been in his attic for years,he said it belong to his grandfather,but there's no wear,has small places with green color from I guess tarnish,thanks for your comment

      Yes light is not so good with a weapon grade knife. They have been making the tourist pieces for a long time. Could be legit but I stay away from middle eastern and far east weaponry.

      Nothing suggests middle east in your item.

      Some of the leaves on the scabbard look close to Chrysanthemum-- Japanese or other "Far East" might be a better search point.

      Forgot to mention the "Sun" symbol has connections to Far East (China) as well.

      I know that this is a Chinese dirk (Nationalist Chinese). The flag on the right is the Nationalist flag and the flag on the left is for the Chinese Navy so this could be a NAVAL dirk for an officer. There are several similar on Ebay, the third link has one identical to what you have:
