Hello, my name is Barney, and I am an amateur when it comes to antiques etc especially Asian ones, but I do have a liking for them as they are brilliantly crafted and I admire the skills involved, especially in hand-made bronzes.
Standing a huge 24" (@63cm) (almost the same size girth) bronze figure of a Buddah weighing in at a massive @ 6 stones (that's @ 40kg). My pride & joy at the moment. Bought him at an auction because nobody seemed to want him. I have been told he is the biggest Buddah of his type but have no idea.
Hello Jim, I had a suspicion he should have a staff etc as there is indeed a hole in his sack (on his back) with a hole. He also has a couple of fingers missing, no doubt when some idiot picked (or tried) him up. Of course he is not totally (or solid) bronze (would weigh @ 16 stone) but has parts made of resin (or similar) but he is a happy chappy & makes me smile everytime I look at him.
Well I hope you got him for a good price what a big boy he is. Fantastic I think if I was there & had the money it would of been something I would buy myself. Well done
