Today was a "tchotchke" kind of day. Nothing major just a couple pieces that I thought were interesting. This little 7 " bottle has a smooth neck and a crackle finished round body. The thick walled neck is actually tapered inside but smooth outside. The body has little dots all over the crackled sphere. The base is smooth with no marks or labels. Not sure what to make of it. -Mike-
NOTE:
Icollectglass has come through again with an ID for my bottle. It's a
1936 perfume bottle for Lucien Lelong. Very pretty crackle glass and hobnail perfume or cologne bottle for Opening Night perfume. There was a silver metal and cork stopper with a label on the neck originally.

Fragrance Composition:
Opening Night by Lucien Lelong: launched in 1935.
So what does it smell like? It was a sparkling aldehydic floral oriental fragrance for women with a chypre base
Top notes: aldehydes, mandarin, bergamont.
Middle notes: violet, sage, freesia, iris, jasmine, hydrangea
Base notes: orris, musk, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, oakmoss, amber, vanilla
Thanks nuts ! :)
I thought perfume bottle when I saw it.
Any evidence in the neck of a stopper?
It looks like there's a bit of a hard water ring about an inch down the neck (maybe a stopper mark) and the body looks a bit cloudy too. Appears that it at least had water in it.
That's awesome icollect :) .........that sure does look like it to me. This one is just a bit taller at 7". The one on pinterest says 6 1/2". Wish I could see the neck but the label covers it. Mine gets very narrow inside at the bottom and flares wider at the top. Maybe you can go back and buy the one you saw .
Hope you can still get it. I do the same thing at Salvation Army. They know if I'm interested look out...lol. Processing doesn't work on Saturdays but she went back and got the one cart they finished Friday for me to look over. Nothing good today I'm afraid. I found this bottle at GW for 3 bucks !
Hmm probably right. A cork stopper would leave a mark on the neck like that. I wounder why the size variations though. This one is 7" and the others say 6" and 6 1/2. Hand crafted I guess.
Not much of a smell left in this one. Must been rinsed and used for flowers. I thought I detected a hint of sweetness though. Probably just the power of suggestion..lol
LOL!!! Mike!!!
